Officially a Tween!

Trinity had her first slumber party this Friday. Many of her friends were on vacation but her cousins and two good buddies were able to come and I think they had a blast!
First we

set the table

got the food ready. . .yum pizza

admired the decor (I made the banner but Trin did all the streamers)
Yes, there was a Miranda Sings theme in case you don't get the banner.
After the girls enjoyed the pizzas we had our first party game. . .spin the bottle!

the girls were supposed get a starburst as a treat when they completed a hand or feet but since we were painting nails (duh) that was going to be hard to unwrap and eat so Ravenna who opted out of the game was our prize distributor and fed all the girls the color they asked for. Funny stuff!
Then we played pin the lips of Miranda but I don't have any pictures of that. Then it was time for cake and presents.

Trinity got beautiful, thoughtful, art related gifts that were right up her alley. Thank you friends!
Once the gifts were opened I announced "you have 20 minutes to do your ugly makeovers!!!" and the girls went screaming upstairs. Youtuber Miranda Sings wears red "listick" granny style with extra around her lips so Trinity had bought each of the girls a red lipstick. She also had some funny scarves and necklaces and makeup set aside for the game. Let's just say, the girls outdid themselves. I was shocked!!! After taking pictures of their amazing ugly transformations I then spent a solid forty minutes pouring makeup remover straight on washcloths and scrubbing their sweet faces!! Two had not option but the shower. LOL

That is lipstick all over my nieces belly,  and babywipes/ handsoap in Trin's. Apparently my other niece's "hairy armpits were created with mascara and detangler. yeah. . . ....
then we played a little Tenzi, Sets, and the hit of the night was TWISTER of course.
You can't improve a classic.

then they went to bed and I have no idea how that went except that we have an open door, personal space policy as general rules in this house and they were asleep by midnight which I would say is not too bad. The next day Trinity's present arrived!

hm Hello. . .Hello Kitty SEWING MACHINE!!!!!!

July- the marathon of summer

After the fourth we kept right on motoring through the month of July. I got a little more acquainted with the Shoreline area as the kids and I attended Parent Practicum for Classical Conversations. It was great to go and be encouraged by people of like mind. I learned that I just need to keep it simple this year and consider it "dipping my toes". I have all my books now and I'm a little freaking out as it all gets closer to starting. I mean, I want to travel to mom and dad's in August and I'm not even sure if it starts in August or September so that might affect what I want to do at the end of summer. Also, I already have guilt that I haven't cracked open all the books and began lesson planning. Such is life.
Some of the random things that have time marching on in July would be helping my friend Carol empty her garage, sports camp, and level one sewing camp for Trinity. Trinity got a shout out at Run to Win for her effort in a new sport and Blake earned some Skittles for saying his bible verse the fastest. I was SO GLAD that Trin's friend Hannah did the camp with her. She had so much more fun with her encouragement and I know there would have been a ton more fights and arguments in the car if she hadn't been there to be the happy medium between Trin and Blake. lol  One day Trin was at sew camp the boys and I hit the whale waterpark again. We hadn't been there since last year. Blake finally mastered the "big whale" and Isaac had a ton of fun trying to stop the spinning globe.
Also exciting as far as my hum drum life; I-90 hired a new worship leader! I'm excited to build more stable teams and help execute Lucas' vision as we look to the future of our church. Last but not least there were fun trips to Ikea, playing with puppies, random pictures by Trin, and birthdays with the extended Diviney family.
. . .and by last but not least I mean this does NOT include the megathon of photos that will come from the Basque Festival next week. You might want to skip that one honestly if your aren't into lamb sandwiches, shepherds carts, and traditional Basque music and dance.
