Room Redo

Well the kids' rooms are FINALLY finished. I can't believe I started this process in MARCH. That was when we moved Isaac to his bed. Unbelievable how fast time goes. The boys was finished relatively soon but Trinity's took a lot more work, including painting three pieces of furniture an shortening the wire on her chandelier so it didn't hang down by her face lol. Everything is pretty much done however except one last piece, that I would like to find a bulletin board for over her desk. Here are some pics!!!
the map is actually a room divider/ screen that I hung on the wall for a headboard. it has whimsical items related to the countries represented. Nesting dolls for Russia, etc. Mom spent HOURs on the rug making it our of old sheets an stuff. It's adorbs. the chandelier is just the right amount of colorful crystals and modern-sputnik design. Thanks Ikea.
this is the desk that was gifted to us from our neighbors. A huge thank you for that.
the giraffe comes from Great Grandma Hepner. Technically it's a wicker plant holder but it belonged to the bedroom set that Jeremy spent two years living on in their basement bedroom while attending community college. When they asked us what we might like after the grandparent's passed Jer said "I want my giraffe". lol
and THIS is the desk painted per Trinity's exact instructions. We put glass on top top to protect the paint job but she can also put photos etc under it if she likes. THANK YOU Grandma Trudy for bringing your sprayer over to do the white. I was NOT looking forward to that Doesn't she look ready for her Better Homes and Gardens Spread??
I put up her Ikea shell nightlight that she hasn't had up since she was a toddler. She liked that.
We painted this dresser and (as you'll see in the above pics) the bookshelf "lucky shamrock" It's quite bright but Trin loves it. Got the new knobs for $1.99 at Ikea. That dresser was built by my Uncle who is quite a bit older than my dad when he was in shop class in the 50's. Talk about vintage. The carousel horse picture is an original oil painting by Jeremy's Grandma Jan. Aren't we lucky to have an artist in the family? She did it years ago for her daughter but it was just sitting in her garage. Lucky us!

now on to the boys' room
the IKEA shelf. LOve love love, sKylanders photo and tub o stuffies.
a few cute pics on it and lots of books and toys
a little place for puzzles and whatever. it usually just piles up dirty clothes. geesh.

yeah, Blake never makes his bed. . .guess who makes Isaac's
dresser and pics, curtains made out of sheets, THANKs mom
art by Isaac, taken on my i-phone
THANKS for the movie poster SAM, nothing like a poster in a cheap frame to add color to a boys room without having to worry it they make it crash to the floor.
go Seahawks.

So happy with how all my hard work paid off.
