Currently

We have decided to refinance our house to a 15 year loan and pay off our credit cards by Christmas. I am doing a dance of JOY. Isaac had his first bout with pukey pukies. It really wasn't that bad and the rest of us seem to be okay so that's good. He fell asleep on my lap this morning as I rocked him after waking up too early. That was wonderful. Trinity has discovered the "Bloody Mary" story. I knew it was only a matter of time before all those giggly girls started swapping ghost stories. Among them was the story of an old woman in Snoqualmie that died in her rocking chair. The rocking chair kept rocking after her body was removed. Trinity was trying to convince me of the reality of such stories and I was telling her that they were only meant to scare people when Blake pipes up with "yeah, you don't want your pants to come off and run away", by which he meant "scare your pants off". Bwahahahhha. They kids are in love with their swimming lessons but being busy two weeknights has put the pressure on with homework. We are managing so far. Nee nee' came for a visit post Great Grandma Hepner's memorial and it was so nice to "hog" her. She and I shopped till we dropped and I scored an AWESOME blanket style coat at ROSS. Love me some shopping with the mother. The kids are making Christmas lists. What they don't know is that we are on the list for a WHIPPET!!!! We should get it in January. Talk about the best CHRISTMAS SURPRISE EVER. Don't tell!!!!!!!! that means of course that I am in freak out mode. This will be a lot of work but for our (probably) one time investment in such an animal I am whipping myself into shape mentally for the responsibility of potty training a toddler and a puppy at the same time. Let's take bets on who will be easier. Or not. Since Isaac has his speech therapy issue I am not sure if he will be able to communicate like the other two about his potty needs. He may be my latest to train as I did the others at two and a half. He might push three, we will just have to see how he is in a few more months when he is officially two and a half. Also I have been considering re-arranging the kids into their new room situation sooner rather than later. Blake seems to have trouble sleeping with Trinity's almost nightly drama. Imagine that. I am reflecting on some earlier goals from the year. I am disappointed that I took a great basic songwriting course and have produced nothing from all the helpful tricks. Shoot. Also, my scripture memorization has completely stalled out. I did twelve verses and was doing great but bam! summer hit, and I haven't gotten back to it AT ALL. I have however kept up with my promise to myself to read more positive input on my faith instead of all the things that trigger my doubts. This has been a fortifying process for me and I am thankful I made a plan for it. I am more involved at church now and doing worship once a month and leading Blake/s first grade group every other week. I thoroughly enjoy it. I continue to be the listening ear for all o Jeremy's dreams and frustrations with running his own company. God has been so good to us in Bill4Time but I don't think it is Jeremy's whole future either. Wondering what is next down the road. It is currently all I can do to accomplish the weekly/daily routine. Not much time for pondering or dreaming or writing.

Perfect As

ESV - 1 Peter 3:7
"Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered."

NKJ

Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
NLT - 1 Peter 3:7
In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.

After focusing on matters of the heart for the woman in regards to her relationship with her husband and her influence/example to that circle of the marriage and church body, Paul turn to husbands and gives them this command: Honor them as the weaker vessel. Well, we are the weaker vessel by nature. This verse gives us another way to AFFIRM our God ordained position. Not focusing on the aspect of weakness but instead on the honor due us in that submissive role. It is not "less than" but "perfect as".
